Yea we need to keep it because the team that prays the most always wins. (Rolls eyes). This holier than thou attitude, and the mix of church and college football has always made me dislike auburn a little bit more.
1. How does praying portray an attitude of "Holier than thou"?
2. Pretty sure the prayer isn't to win the game
3. Do you think Auburn is even close to the only team that does this?

Also, the stupidest part about this is a completely unrelated party is the one bringing this up.
If someone on the team feels this way, then fine we can have the debate. But until then, shouldn't even be an issue.

1. The praying is not what I was referencing. The whole culture at auburn is what I’m referencing. The “we put our focus on god first” therefore our program is morally superior to yours. (Virtue signaling).
2. Obviously, I realize you aren’t praying to win the game. It was a comment made in jest, but you all would be fine if you didn’t hold an organized prayer session pre-game.
3. Again, obviously, I realize auburn isn’t the only team that does this. Those other teams make me roll my eyes as well. Auburn is the topic of this thread, therefore they were the target.
Chizik referenced it being a “god thing” when you won the national championship. I guess god just wanted all those other teams to lose that year.
It’s one thing to pray as fans. No problem with that. No problem with players or coaches praying to whatever god they prefer to pray to, but to make it the foundation of your athletic program is a little bizarre. Name another SEC school that does this?
