When looking at overall history of the LSU program, it is more reasonable to count 2003 through 2011 as the fluke.

An 8-year fluke with 2 NCs and 3 SEC championships? So, was the period of 1958 to 1971 where LSU won a NC and a few SEC championships a similar fluke? Historically, LSU is a solid to elite football program. The fluke was the 1990s. That should have never happened. Remove the 1990s and LSU is a top-10 historic program. Not Alabama and Notre Dame but up there with the best.

Well said!! LSU will always be elite due to the athletes LA and surrounding states produce. It’s just a matter of getting the right coaching staff and commitment from the administration in there to produce championships.

We’re no Alabama, USC or ND. But we’re definitely a top 15 type of program all time. Always relevant.
