Should we enjoy the win or talk about Franks?

I’m torn. It wasn’t his breakout game I was hoping for but he does seem to have become a good not great game manager. I have no idea what was going through his mind on that interception he threw after halftime.

Dude got nailed and missed it. It happens.

On the two drives we needed to stay in the game ( after both lsu TD's) He led two legit drives that helped us answer. Yes he was inaccurate but LSU got after him a lot.

Enjoy the damn win. Plenty of time for monday morning QB'ing

You can both enjoy and talk about what happened.

Another game where Franks was hovering around 100 yards for three quarters and at least didn't lose the game in the end.

But the fact of the matter is: He isn't the answer at QB. We'll just have to eat our vegetables and wait until a QB with some real wheels comes to play.

Can we talk about his poise after interceptions the last two weeks? 2017 Franks completely falls apart after that midfield pick against State and the end zone pick today.

Mullen has gotten him to shake off the poor decisions and forge ahead. Franks' leadership means a hell of a lot to this team IMO.

We had three 3 and outs after the interception. Franks had two total yards of passing between those passes. These are the types of games that are incredibly unfair to the defense, because if we score a touchdown -- heck, if we even get a field goal to open up the second half, the game is probably a lot more different.

You can't throw a pick and have three 3 and outs back to back to back against most teams and win. We were fortunate the defense completely bailed out the offense and their stalling throughout the first and third quarter.

It's not about being negative, it's about being objective.

It looked mighty dark at 19-14. Uf had wasted their big play, LSU was starting to run, and franks was shell shocked. Then he hit van Jefferson and broke out of his funk and orchestrated a beautiful drive to get to 20-19.

After that, it was ol and rbs kicking arse.

I thought for sure we were done, then our run game took over along with our defense having some huge turnovers. That touchdown to put us up by 1, I thought for sure it was all over.

Franks got punished all fricking day...and I mean all day. Anybody with a brain could see the punishment he took and got back up.

Whats fricking wrong with you Finch? Are you truly a Gator fan? You donty seem happy we are winning. I guess the girls school getting beat bothered you?

Good ol' reel.

If it chaps your arse so much, why don't you guys go talk about something else?

I really don't understand what you get out of bitching about people talking Gators football. If your entire idea is "Gators win by 100 every game" and "No one on Florida does anything wrong", then what fun is it to come in here and whine?

He has been tough and did pick up first downs with his legs, but he has to be injury free and I don't mind him sliding. The team loves him and Mullen sees the potential to be special.

UGA just slaughtered Vandy and we should too....stats will be better imo.

Don't get why people are so baffled by the pick. He was throwing to the under route which was open and got hit as he released so it sailed. Frank's is just Frank's

He will throw a beautiful pass. Then throw one that makes you wonder if he is seeing double. Just is what it is.

I just don't understand why folks are going to bitch about Franks...he got plastered by LSUs DL many times. He ended up with 40+ yds rushing. He was creamed when he threw that pass in the end zone by a 300+lb DL. frick, we are going to bitch about that?????

I will fricking defend him. He was awful last year because of poor arse coaching mainly and he wasn't ready to play as a skinny QB. He has done more than what was asked of him. He was determined to turn things around by spending hot summer days working his arse off. He added 25 lbs. and has a coach that has settled him down a lot. If anybody would open their fricking eyes...he doesn't have the happy feet syndrome he had last year.

He is still a work in progress and Mullen believes in him.
Get off his back. I would like to see the naysayers stand their ground while a 320 lb DL is heading straight at them.

Seems the answer is talk about Franks.

I don't know why there are several posters who say they trust Dan Mullen but can't help but insert themselves in every conversation about the Quarterback.

Like I said above: If your answer boils down to trusting the HC, this conversation isn't for you and you can move along.

For the others, his numbers:

12/27 (44.4%)

161 yards. (Second lowest of the season.)

People talk about Franks because he is obviously the low point of the team -- fairly or unfairly. With a bad OL or not. He wasn't sacked once in the game, as opposed to Burrow who was sacked five times but managed hit 56% of his passes.

He's not a bad Quarterback, but he's no what this team needs. You guys say dumb shite (not you Lucius) about how it's his OL, he was getting hit when he threw it -- that's part of SEC football. You're gonna get hit every now and again, so the answer isn't: well gee golly willikers I hope I have a game where I have six seconds to read the field every down.

The kid still slides early of first down yardage, he still throws it into coverage -- regardless of him being hit or not with the throw into the end zone, there were something like 4 defenders in the vicinity. There were indeed 4 vs. 2.

Franks was an integral part against MSST, but if you take away that game, against FBS teams he's:

46/98 - 47%.

That's not good, and a huge reason our offense is hindered right now. The team is winning in spite of Franks, not because of him.

I don’t know about winning in spite of him. He’s inconsistent sure but winning in spite of him seems harsh.

It is what it is, hes the man this year and we ll go as far as he can take us.

I generally have stayed out of this this year. I was just answering the initial question.

I know, I'm just annoyed that we have to have a topic questioning whether or not we can talk about football.
