Joe Burrow is not Tua or Baker Mayfield but doesn't have to be. Bama has done fine with so-called game managers who can make plays when they're needed. We joke around about "game-managers" but in the right situation they get the job done. No one can seriously argue that LSU 2018 is not a big improvement over 2017 edition. Exactly. LSU and Bama are similar in the way they play football. Rely heavily on the defense, control the line of scrimmage, and have a QB who can manage a game and get a few good drives with points.

Bama and LSU don’t need heisman QBs to win games but they need a QB who is a good game manager. Alabama has had that pretty much every year since Saban has been there and as for LSU, not so much. Now what’s scary is one of those teams having a really really good dual threat QB who can win a heisman trophy.

Just look at Alabama this year. This is probably the best team ever in college football because they have a QB who can’t be stopped and their defense will always be lights out. What LSU has in Burrow is all they need to be successful
