It's not so much of a buyout as it is he's fully guaranteed.

Yeah. Some seem to not understand the difference. He simply doesn't have a buyout. Assuming aTm gets at least 6 years out of him, by that point there is a good chance that salary creep catches up and they didn't end up any worse off. And they got who they wanted. Only time will tell whether it pays off.

I see, so that means A&M would have to pay him his full contract amount even if he's fired for cause?

I mean, I get it and all, $75 million guaranteed when he signed, but still ... day um.

If I were him I'd take out a $60 million dollar low interest loan on that money and invest it and double my money, or more (maybe triple it in this market), over the life of the contract.
