It’s unbelievable he was dumb enough to pull that sword in the first place

And security went after the guy who did *not* have a sword. Presumably because SMU instigated the whole mess.

At least he didn’t actually stab somebody

When I see him flip over, I'm amazed he managed not to stab himself.

Truly one of the most amazing moments in college football history.

What’s the story behind that gif? Why is the SMU already on his knees (har har) and the Aggie kick him?

Wait a minute... this was what SMU did that was so offensive?

quote:

After an SMU touchdown, the Mustangs' cheerleaders ran onto Kyle Field's supposedly hallowed turf. A couple of them laid down to spell out "S-M-U," much to the chagrin of a certain Aggie cadet.

quote:

As we were sitting there listening to that 12 note smu fight song being played over and over and over again we saw the guy cheerleaders going out on the field and spelling out "S", then move around and spell out the "M", and then the "U". Even at 15 I knew that the field was a memorial and that no one was supposed to be on the field. "Hey, They Can't Do That!" I saw a cadet going out to tell the cheerleaders that they can't be out there.

I assumed it was an incident like what happened at Rice where the Aggie band was on the field or otherwise some designated time for the Aggies to be on the field.

But now I'm learning the offense was that the SMU cheerleaders dared to celebrate on Kyle Field's hallowed sacred turf because every inch of Aggieland is a memorial.

Makes a lot more sense now.

You can saw this cadet was overzealous but all of that sounds totally in line with the way Aggies are indoctrinated from day one.
