as for Rooster's concern in his OP about negativity - the SC "media" (term used loosely) - knows exactly where to look to find their needed Gamecock "fan of choice" to continue a fabricated narrative of ~ gloom, despair & agony ~ it was tasked with hanging around Carolina's neck like a noose decades ago.

hell, today's "journalists" actively cultivate it. social media has only made their job easier, all the while allowing for more exposure to their plight.

True, from Herman Helms to Joe Person with several in between and to include Ron Morris, and to include Mick Mixon and to some degree Phil Kornblut, although their medium is totally irrelevant anymore these days, there was an overt attempt to do that imho.

These days it's more about social media no doubt.

I think Josh and the guys over at The State have actually gotten a lot better about being good sports journalists. And the radio guys on 107.5 are pretty good too, at least the 4-7PM time slot with that guy, he's excellent.

It's social media ginning-up a lot of the crap. Plus, I am absolutely convinced, it's a few taterheads masquerading as Gamecock fans. They've been doing it forever and they're never going to stop. They did it with letters and postcards back in the day ... emails and BBS posts and twitter just made it easier for them.

yessir it is. the print mafia still reaches a demographic but we've long tired of their antics and see through the bs. it's still frustrating to see, but it's largely irrelevant.

the social media platforms that reach recruits/their families is the infuriating war we now wage we these plants.

the link to the XT "story" on this forum is a perfect example of the back-handed, intentional low-balling shots that have always been cast towards Carolina - all the while championing the orangeneck program at Circus U.

for comparison, the Josh Belk story has waaaaay more to it than Dildo 'releasing' him to another program, let alone USC. but the Snake wrote a fluff piece about how fortunate USC must be to get a player like him especially with a blessing from Dildo. nauseating and quite the load of bullshite from what actually took place.
