Guy came from old school radio in an age before pictures. He had to paint a canvas with just his voice and his mind. Maybe Vin Scully after him but still did not use the same visual brush.

I'll throw Lindsey Nelson in there although I never heard him call a Vol game...his calls of the Cotton Bowl on CBS when I was a kid were legendary...Paul Eels with Vandy and later Arkansas was a great one...anyone who could make a Vandy football game seem interesting had to be good.
