Big 6. Two big 12 and two SEC schools.

This is great news for Aggieland! Maybe the athletic department can finally pay back all that money they owe to the academic side of the school.
Call Forbes... let then know you are butthurt over this.

I'm not butthurt. I'm legit happy for you guys. Just wondering if you're ever gonna pay back that loan. Our broke-arse AD sends around $10mil to the academic side every year. You've obviously got the money, so why don't you do that?

I think the business contributor was counting on that being the case if A&M stayed. The big 12 is a higher paying conference as it is now. With A&M and MU still in the big 12 I would imagine it would be on par with the sec. had the schools stayed in the big 12 and just negotiated equal revenue, the big 12 would be highly profitable right now

Any CPA or finance professional would never equate revenue or profit (an income statement item) with value (a balance sheet item), rendering this whole analysis misleading.

The most surprised I've been with that list is how absent the ACC is.
Basketball is a lower revenue sport than football, overall. Though the top basketball programs do pretty well for themselves, especially with merchandising.

But every time this list is posted, a longhorn fairy on Orange bloods loses his wings

South Carolina has the highest revenue and profit according to that list. How is aTm considered the most valuable.
List confuses me.
Again, for people in back -- the list with USCe at the top is photoshopped. Somebody with too much time on their hands and too little self-esteem in relation to their program just switched USCe with TAMU.

Yep, and still our AD has been a boon to the university's academic goals, rather than a burden. As a proud graduate of TAMU, I'd think you would want to see that disparity addressed now that you have the means to do so.

Your A.D. really should spend money on your facilities, they are what, 4th in the big 12 now. Talk about king of slums

Especially one that counts tens of millions in one-time capital campaign contributions as revenue, while not applying that expense to the outlays, thus inflating "profit."
I'm looking at you, aggy.

I hear they have nice flat screens in the suites at DKR so they watch a great game while their squad struggles to pull out a win against mighty Tulsa.
