Does the committee leave them out again?

The committee will put them in and match them up against Alabama just so they can be made an example of.

Here is their schedule:

at UConn Huskies W 56-17
SC State Bulldogs W 38-0
at North Carolina Tar Heels
Florida Atlantic Owls
Pitt Panthers
SMU Mustangs
at Memphis Tigers
at East Carolina Pirates
Temple Owls
Spectrum Stadium, Orlando, FL
Navy Midshipmen
Cincinnati Bearcats
at USF Bulls

The two best teams they will play this year are North Carolina (currently 0-2) and Pitt (currently 1-1). Even Navy (currently 1-1) struggled with Memphis to get their win.

IMO being ranked #18 is generous for UCF because no one knows just how good they really are. They can kill everyone on their schedule and still not be a top-4 team, IMO, unless perhaps the other top-4 candidates all have 3 or more losses. They have to schedule better teams and win if they want to be taken seriously.

No. The committee wouldn't be able to survive leaving out the undefeated defending national champions.

You not getting the point of why UCF is not going to get the nod because they do not play against better competition more than once of any. Yes, UCF beat Auburn. But Auburn was no way near that good to continue to play at the top level all season long.

Then they’ll have a chance to win back to back national championships

Auburn was plenty good, they didn’t want to be there. That’s a sad statement, but it’s true. If that game had been meaningful Auburn wins going away.

This a reason why we should expand the playoffs. Do I think they would win it all, not a snowball’s chance in hell. But, going undefeated, especially with their margins of victory, at least earns them the opportunity to try.

Their lone ACC game is probably going to be cancelled again thanks to the hurricane this weekend.

USF will be a quality team, or should be at least.

If they keep beating teams with huge blowouts, including Pitt and UNC, I don't see how, unless there are 4 undefeated P5 schools

a team like Oklahoma, Notre Dame or Bama jumps them with one loss, but I think the pressure to include them would be at a fever pitch

Yep, first they ruin the conference's streak in bcscg, and then they lose to a mid major the same year we get two conference teams into the playoffs. Auburn ruins everything for the conference and then wonder why nobody likes them. They are an embarrassment, frick Auburn, frick them right in the ear.

UNC might be the worst team on their schedule.
