That is really the only thing he has, he didn't leave.

Plenty of better on air talent has been through his market, and his former station.

He was best when he was a special on site reporter and ran things behind the scenes at channel 5 when they had guys like Mel Fair there, you never saw him on air unless he was reporting from the site of the games.

Then he got opinionated, sure his stories from his early days can be interesting, but his editorials posted to Hiv and 5online led to a greater sense of self worth than he really has which ultimately led to his firing. After Gus burned him in 06 he had quite the rant where he made it clear that covering the hogs was just a job for him and he's still a red raider at heart...

This was otis Kirk. Basically since richard used to do free content on WHS, he side gigged on HiV.

Then when WHS became a pay site, and richard, and others went to their private forum there, HiV only board worth looking at (the recruiting forum) became more dead than aretha franklin.

So lanny or whoever reached out to otis (since he had lost his spot on 247, and was working at FSN.com (not covering the hogs btw)), and otis pounced on the opportunity. He has been pumping out premium, for free content, daily. Works on multiple forums. Does live updates in MMQB from pressers. Does all the recruiting stuff, and answers questions asked, and to him.

Tardville and pigtrail nation are affiliated, richard went to his full time job, and they got a new full time guy.

I know kirk gets a ton of heat on here, but the dude has come flying out of the gate since he got hired over there. He has a renewed energy once he had to work something not hog related.

Whole hog sports, HiV is hogville, adg is Arkansas democratic Gazette. On radio on 96.3 he does recruiting thursdays. MMQB (general football discussion board on hogville.) FsN is fox sports network.

He had to, this is his last shot. Failure at HIV means he has to find a real job and I doubt he has much to retire on since his gigs likely haven’t paid much.

I seriously might try to become a local print reporter when I retire someday. Sports, politics,...I would get bomb threats on me the first month.
