Troll aside, Auburn has kept Alabama from winning three or four other national championships.
Punt Bama Punt, First Iron Bowl in JH, and Kick Six off the top of my head. Pretty historically important IYAM

quote:Punt Bama Punt was in 1972 - at AU game time Bama was a distant second to USC who remained undefeated. 1989 Bama was number two - Miami beat them in the bowl and won the NC. That Bama was a bit of a paper tiger. IMO, AU was the better team, easily physically superior. Bama did a lot with less, AU was good but was a bit underachieving.

2013 is the only AU win that kept Bama from possibly winning a NC.
The only two games ever played between the two with both having unbeaten records were 1971 and 1994 (AU had a tie). Bama won them both 31-7 and 21-14.

For PBP, y'all weren't #1 in either poll before the game and still lost your bowl.
For the FIBIJH, y'all still lost the Sugar Bowl to Miami.
As for KS, I don't think anyone was beating FSU that season.
