If Gus gets 10+ W this season, I'd easily grade him as "success" thus far and optimistic about the future of AU football

i doubt that. Its been said before. You will just move that mark again just like everyone has in the past

Petersen has almost identical results as Gus at Washington, a program with significantly less resources, poorer recruiting access and prestige as Auburn.

Less resources to beat teams like Colorado and BYU. Gus is competing against the top teams in the country every year. In the same state / recruiting area as the most decorated program and coach in NCAA history. During their prime

He is not beating Colorado and BYU that is ranked 21st

Hasn't been said by me. Any coach that wins 10+ regularly in a P5 conference is a successful coach, no matter the program.

That said, sometimes a coach plateaus and new, fresh energy is needed. Successful coaches like Mark Richt / Les Miles are great examples

Elite Recruits by State

This isn't as big a deal when 7 of the top 20 recruiting states in the country are SEC country, including #7 AL

The Pac12 only has 2 states in the top 20 and Washington's home state isn't in there.
