As you guys saw on the depth chart, true freshman Ale Kaho is right behind Dylan Moses at the WILL position. A source close to the program, tells me that Kaho is a straight badass and while he's still a little behind in terms of terminology, he's ready to play and will play sooner rather than later.

Has he gotten any bigger? I mean, he's listed as 6'1" and 218 lbs. Like, an average safety in size. He should be fast, but I'd think he'd get his arse handed to him in the run game.

While I'm sure he needs to put on weight to get to his ideal playing weight at Bama, I can say from viewing him move at Bama practices that he might hold up alright in the run game.

Is he going to be elite at holding his own at the point of attack against an Olineman? No, but another 10 or 15 pounds won't help with that anyway.

The key to an ILB fitting the run well is avoiding blocks and sloughing blocks by playing fast, not thinking, and just reacting and stepping into the play with quickness. Violent hands can help tremendously with sloughing blocks.

And so, even if he was 240lbs, if he lets an Olineman get on him, he's blocked. And at this weight he has now, if he avoids getting blocked, 220lbs is plenty big enough to tackle the ball carrier.

Remember, this game is played in a lot more space than most of us remember. I played in the 90s and everybody stacked the box and ran the ball. It was a giant pile half the time. It's not like that now.

And the one thing Kaho does incredibly well is move. Kid can really move. I believe he could fit the run nicely if he can absorb enough playbook to play fast and play downhill.

ESPN has him listed at 6'2, 232#, and they usually use measurements from one of their camps which I'm sure Kaho attended so I'd lean toward those numbers.

Don't believe this to be accurate but either way it looks like this five star is gonna play according to the depth chart. Kid may be 235. He wouldn't be listed second string over other guys that we know are physically ready. Looks like there was a lot of misinformation surrounding this transfer. Glad it's working out. Lord knows we need the depth.
