The magazine I was thinking about was on newsprint but smaller than 8.5 x 11
It was usually a single color and came in stacks at the local hangouts like burger shops and liquor stores.
Hokey he may have been, but he did have a pretty good winning percentage that I remember. Seems the back was filled with pro matchups. I do not think I have seen one since the 80's.
