10 conference games I don't think will happen for a very long time and it would probably require more expansion and realignment into mega-conferences.

I don't think it will ever happen either. It puts teams that play traditional in-state rivalry games against P5 teams every year at a huge disadvantage. SEC teams need the cupcake games not just for rent-a-wins but just some relief from the grind of playing SEC teams every week. It would only work if the schedule expanded to 13 total games, but 13 regular season games is too many IMO.
