I love the idea of Davis at NT. Pressure from the outside can be negated by a QB who is good at stepping up in the pocket but pressure up the middle like we’ve been accustomed to with Payne is hard to come by without bringing MLB. My only concern is his height and can he play low enough to not have his massive strength negated by his huge frame and giving up leverage to smaller centers

Our Nose will be in a 3 technique just as often as 1 technique, and so I don't think the fact that centers are a tick shorter on average will make much of a difference.

I imagine we'll put our Dline guys in positions where we are best as a unit, and that will change from game to game, team to team, and drive to drive depending on what the offense is doing.

Sure, Davis is tall, but he's shown the ability to play both inside and outside. There's gonna be a lot of movement on that unit in the next few months, and the real question is, "Who is in the 2nd group on the DLine and how good are they?" That's the difference between a championship Dline and not.
