Look I ain't arguing that Thomas isn't an elite player. I don't think he's a tackle but I think he's got a chance to be a dominant guard for ya'll down the road but he does have to work on hand placement. That isn't a made up Bama fan myth

They have to say something negative probably about everyone, but leaving MVP kind of says it all. If he was holding so often he definitely wouldn't have been named MVP, sounds like just being nitpicky at a small thing.

Also, keep in mind for offensive linemen in these settings everything is working in the favor of the defensive player being 1 on 1s. As a guard in a game you are never just completely one on one with no help/backing from either side, so a little extra "holding" here and there is going to happen because the defensive player has all the advantages.

I guess they give out MVP to the player that holds the most.

Also, he's a guard, where holding to some degree happens just about every play in college football just about , but rarely gets called being in the thick of things vs. 1 on 1 tackles. From what I read, most of his "Holding" came on tackle reps, which I would expect, and means nothing really. He's not a guy you play out in space, he's definitely a guard.

All things considered, taking home MVP tells me nobody is worried about his "holding" really.

Well ya it's nitpicky, Thomas is very good so when looking for areas of improvement stuff like "he might get called for holds" is what they find

I think these 1v1 camp settings are dumb for OL/DL so you don't have to sell me on that. I was just pointing out that people have written about holding & Thomas

I mean if the only thing people are criticizing your OL about is he holds then he's probably pretty damn good. Ya'll gotta quit taking that bait
