All I'm saying is had we simply played the same scheme we had played (with good success) all year I believe we would have won:

I dont believe any scheme would have stopped that offense. We only got slowed down once all year and that was by LSU in the stiff dew.

That offense was pretty much unstoppable. When a team rushes for over 500 yards, its not a scheme. Its getting man handled up front. Which you were. Im sure Pinkle knew the scheme better than any of us and if he could have changed things to slow us down, he would have after we got to 200,300 and maybe 400 years rushing.

Your only choice was to out score us which you couldnt when we made a few plays on defense finally

Maybe so, but again...we were (I believe) second in the SEC in YPC coming into that game. We had a good run defense.

Shut you down? No, force a few punts and hold serve enough to have 42 points win the game? Yes, I believe so.

We played that game in a 3 down front which we hadn't down one single time that entire year leading up to the game. It was a terrible decision and making matters worse we never got out of it when it was obviously being shredded.

I know this is all sour grapes, but it's not rant trolling. I truly believe we fricked ourselves and that's not taking away from Auburn. We WERE that good. Still stings to this day because those type of teams don't come to Mizzou all that often.
