Another small step for AI. The pattern of evolution for AI is different than it was for biological intelligence, BI.

For BI, the mechanics for the body that housed it changed first. No doubt this helped stimulate the development of BI.

When hominids broke off from hominoids during evolution, some of them began to walk upright. This change is seen as far back as 6.7 million years ago with Sahelanthropus tchadensis, or "Toumai."

Upright walking led to hominins, all primates on the human branch of the tree of evolution. Humans are, of course, the pinnacle of BI and its end. Biological evolution can go no further.

Now comes artificial intelligence. We're watching its evolution within our lifetimes. It's the logical next step in the continuing saga of evolution on a planet that is ideal for the development of super intelligence. Development of the body that hosts AI seems to be in parallel with the evolution of artificial intelligence itself so it's coming far, far faster than BI did.

Sleep well. It won't be long before, "Alexa, turn on the ceiling fan to speed one," becomes "______________________________."

Fill in the blank with a command that you think we'll be giving to AI in 2028.

There's no job safe from AI/robotic automation. Doctors and lawyers think now way I'm safe, but that will come almost as quickly as everybody else. This is something very real that we need to start preparing for.

As a lifelong sci-fi fan and one who has seen the dire forecasts of human overpopulation, it amazes me that there are so few concerns for the future of earth. Both long-term and short-term predictions include increasing dangers from damaging the biosphere.

We may not have time to develop true AI before we off ourselves. We seem to be plundering the earth of its resources faster than we're developing AI.

Maybe you should take a long, hard look at the hamplanets that waddle into fast-food joints. Smell, texture and color are no longer necessary to get them gobbling out of the trough.

"Would you like a safe word today?"

"No, Alexa."

"O. K., I hope you have fun!"

My last post is also significant towards your hinting at population control, Kentucker!!

Yay science!

The cost includes a program for the poors to get theirs "free." Trials are underway to see if we can get poor welfare recipient men to convert to artificial obese pussies. Vibrators will be distributed to poor womens.

Yeah well, how about shaking the appropriate amount of reconstituted dehydrated onions onto a quarter-pounder ? I have skills my friend. Skills that a robot will never master !

This is such a egotistical approach that most humans take.

Well, when little kids are taught in Sunday school that mankind has dominion over all other life you have to think that they aren't going to value it when they grow up. They think everything was made for their benefit and use it accordingly.

Yep and it is fricking sickening. So many got damn brainwashed folks out there. Is there a way we can make it illegal for kids to attend or believe in religions until they are adults, 18+? Maybe if we can end the cycle of brainwashing the children to believe some primitive book, then we can make actual improvements as a human race.

They're making improvements buddy, you just don't get to see them yet. Maybe because you have too many axes to grind.
