How does "trending topics" work?

For example
Just passed the flagship on its way home from Omaha
is the number one trending topic but it only has 9 replies and the last reply was at 2:30pm. Does that mean people are still looking at this thread more than any other but it's just not getting replies?

Might have to do with upvotes.

Not really no, but I had a thread I thought was pretty money a few months ago that I checked up on and it never made it to the front page I don't think. bullshite

I think it was because the avatar I threw together had one of those big X's down the middle with a camera underneath that's a trademarked image or something. It was pretty obviously not an Imgur free use image I don't think.
I think they axed all the Luminati avi's also. lol

I'll say this about posting styles and this board in particular, if you go to the O-T Lounge or the Movie board and all that people will say anything for a laugh. Someone would tear down their own mother if it was funny.

I laugh when I read the poli board because someone can post something pro-Trump and have 80 upvotes and 1 downvote in 15 minutes, then someone else can post something negative about Trump and have 3 upvotes and 120 downvotes in 10 minutes.

Yep, it’s very one-sided and I think has gotten much worse since the election. Several of the more prominent posters that leaned more toward the middle stopped posting as well and they provided some counter balance to the worship rally that normally goes on. Never really been many left leaning posters. It’s a hoot.
