If you think Trae Young was the sole goal of this rebuild, you pay about as much attention as I expected. Why do you think we're trying to get future 1st round picks? This is clearly the long play because Schlenk doesn't think Doncic is the superstar social media is making him out to be, and I agree with that.

Yet, he makes a trade most wouldn't, putting him out on a limb the majority of professionals in his position in the league wouldn't venture on to. It's a long play that will include a protected pick in a meager draft year and a potential boom/bust in TY.

The general consensus of the basketball world, not just Atlanta, is going to be that this was quite a risky move, so this is a pretty amusing conclusion.
