Hell yeah it’s a damn fine achievement. We won hardware this season, something not many teams can claim, but a lot of people will forget that just because we imploded in the regionals.
It absolutely sucks the morning after but we’ll live through it fellas.
If we went back to January, and looking at the season we had last year, would anyone not take this current season?
Tied for the most wins in school history, a division title, a tournament title, top four national seed, and a first round draft pick.
This was a special team and a special season, sometimes the ball just doesn’t fall your way. Sometimes the ump is a blind bat. Sometimes the other team is better. And sometimes it all comes together for the ultimate WAOM.
Had a fun few months talking baseball with all y’all, now onto football

I would trade the trophy and the season-long top 5 ranking to not WAOM. It’s nothing short of pathetic how we imploded, and it’s all the shittier that no one is even surprised it happened

Not to mention that so many teams we’re better than, including many of those from the conference who’s tournament we won, advanced this weekend and we got completely wrecked by a team wearing Russell Athletics

funny hypothetical here- if state loses in their SR, would you trade their season for ours? Win a regional but nothing else to show. Or win the SEC tourney, tie for most wins, and blow it in the regional while everybody laughs at you.

Trade with State, easily.
It’s even more pathetic with all of this team’s accolades that we got absolutely wrecked in our own regional. For how great this team was, we ultimately didn’t do shite, on top of the fact that State’s shitty team beat us 3 out of 4 times AND is going to a super with a chance at Omaha. Regular season wins don’t mean anything if you don’t do anything with them, same with winning in Hoover. Not to mention, the most wins ever came against the weakest OOC schedule among the good teams in the SEC, we avoided Florida, and otherwise we had every theoretically tough conference series at home, other than A&M. There’s no reason we should’ve gotten our asses kicked this hard, and the season doesn’t much matter because we got our asses kicked.
It’s like Virginia losing in the first round of March Madness as a 1 seed. Yeah, it’s awesome that they won enough to be a 1 seed, but I’m sure they’d have traded that 1 seed with literally anyone who made the Sweet 16. We were the #4 national seed, which is the equivalent of the 4th 1 seed in March Madness, and we made it to the round of 32 when we had legitimate Elite Eight aspirations. I’d trade our season with anyone who advanced this weekend

I would take MSU's season over ours in a heart beat. Super regional appearance > losing to OVC team at home in regional.

This is where you have to see the value in winning championships. We have something to show for this season, whereas, we haven’t in a long while.

I guess we just have differing opinions on the matter. I’d rather have hardware and a regional exit, as much as it stings, instead of no trophy and a super appearance.
But I think we can all probably agree that we’d give up the tourney trophy if it meant we made Omaha

Yeah no question I don’t won’t a conference tournament championship over a regional crown. It was fun to watch us win the SEC tournament but means very little compared to the actual postseason.
