The Chicago Bears have signed five players who attended their rookie minicamp on a tryout basis over the weekend, including former Williamson High School and UAB standout Matt McCants and John Franklin III, who spent a season as a quarterback at Auburn.
Franklin signed with the Bears as a defensive back, and he also will be looked at as a kick returner.
Franklin came to Auburn from East Mississippi Community College. In 2016, he completed 14-of-26 passes for 204 yards with one touchdown and ran for 430 yards and two TDs for the Tigers.

Sounds sort of Nick Marshalesque, who came to the Jags as a DB, and ended up making the roster and contributing on special teams. You never know, some guys are just great athletes.

I just didn't hate him after watching Last Chance- he got a lot of grief on here and he seemed semi-ok-ish to me. Knock their socks off, JF3.

if the guy wasnt such a huge douche i think he would have a much better shot at the NFL at this point. He has some elite straight line speed. throwing away letters from colleges contacting you on camera pretty much was a weak move on his part. arse ended up at FAU...
