Richardson was a much bigger bust because his cost was much greater.

Yes, Robinson was a #2 overall choice, but Richardson was a #3 overall choice in the 2012 draft and *then* the Colts traded a 1st round choice to get him from Cleveland which turned out to be the #26 pick in the 1st round of the 2014 draft.

2 1st rounders >>>> 1 1st rounder

State was close several times. In 1982. Johnie Cooks was the second overall pick by the Giants. Bailey Howell was the second overall pick by the NBA in 1959. Will Clark was the second overall pick by MLB in 1985.
So close but no cigar on the first overall picks.

Obviously, it is a great honor and only very select few are in the club of first overall pick in the Big 3 sports.
