Can definitely develop into a Sam LB for Alabama.

High ceiling guy. Why isn’t UGA signing a lot of the top Georgia players this cycle? Seems odd given their dominance in state last year. Is Kirby being too picky or just missing on some?

5 stars Jadon Haselwood, Nolan Smith, Travon Walker and Dominick Blaylock say hello. Do not count Kirby out from flipping Pappoe and nabbing 5 star CB Andrew Booth who is trending towards Clemson. After nabbing 5 star OLB's Adam Anderson,Brenton Cox and Quay Walker last cycle Harris was a plan B prospect this cycle.

No excuse for missing on Pappoe. With Harris, he wanted to commit last Fall, but Kirby politely told him to think about the decision. I think it was a case of Kirby having higher guys on the board at the time. According to Rusty, UGA just recently reestablished contact but it’s too late. I think Clemson also told him to look elsewhere

That sounds like Tim Williams recruitment. Which is who Harris is being compared to.
LSU slow played him. He developed into an elite pass rusher at Alabama.

You can't be a Bama fan. Wtf is this shite lmao. Kirby has a great class right now and what three five stars from GA right now.

I like Kevin Harris. Sentell just posted an article on Dawgnation (AJC). Short story, UGA turning Harris away cost us Pappoe. Really good article if you enjoy recruiting insight.

Not a very smart move by Kirby. If Harris is good enough to play for the premier program and coach in the country in Alabama and Saban who have won 5 of the last 9 nattys, he’s certainly good enough to play in Athens. Looks like Kirby screwed two pooches on one go on this one. Rookie coach mistake, live and learn.

This one is a fun new Bama troll

How am I wrong? It’s ok to admit your rookie coach messed up. Won’t be the first or last time it happens, champ.

Long time until signing day bud. Lots of kids will commit and decommit for many reasons between now and then. I'm going to sit back and enjoy the ride.

If it means anything, Nolan Smith said he’d look around if UGA took another OLB. He’s vying for the top spot in the 2018 class. Do you risk losing one of the top D players in the class? Kirby made the call, and I support him

Fair enough. Doesn’t negate this cluster which seems to be sending many of the state of Georgia’s top 20 players out of state. Will be another great class for UGA I’m sure. Could be as high as #2 when all is said and done. ;-)

So 5-star Nolan Smith is afraid of competition? I find that hard to believe. And wasn’t he the one in the article that was supposedly upset by how UGA treated Harris? I’m not buying it. Kirby just flubbed this one up. Even if he was unsure about Harris, you take his commitment (he’s a composite top 100 player for Pete’s sake) and then if you find someone better later, you slow play him until he decommits. Saban does his every cycle, you don’t alienate elite players until you’re sure you have a better option in hand. It cost him Harris and OP. Bama and AU reap the benefits. Thanks, Kirbs.

Georgia is doing fine in state ...three 5 stars on board already. Finishing at 2 this cycle would be great considering that we likely only have room for 19 or 20 players.

Wow, small class. Much like ours last year. Bama will sign 27-28 this cycle. Should have the top class unless we really screw up down the stretch.

I’m just telling you what Dawgnation reported a few weeks ago. I’ll look for the article tomorrow, but Nolan said if UGA takes another OLB, he’d look around (not verbatim). You’re right, the article tonight contradicts the old report. I have no insight into what these kids are doing, I can only go by the information that is shared publicly.

Or, we he just likes where we're at now. Harris tried to commit last year and we told him to wait. We signed Azeez Ojulari last year. We have Nolan Smith this year, and we're in great shape for BJ Ojulari for next year. I'll go with option C.

When Harris tried to commit to UGA, there really wasn't much film of him out there, and he had never worked out for UGA staff in-person. The regrettable part is that UGA probably would have been better off waiting to offer.
UGA can't take and then slow play a commitment from Grayson. The situation there is already tenuous, clearly.
