Just two Missouri players drafted over the last two years (Charles Harris & J'Mon Moore). That's the fewest for MU over a two-year stretch since 2001 & 2002, when Justin Smith went 4th in '01 and no picks in '02

Look no further than this to understand the talent Mizzou has had over the last 2-3 seasons. Sure BO has made a few mistakes, and the talent here has not been enough to overcome his rookie coaching mistakes.

Next year will be better, I expect at least 3-4 players drafted from Mizzou.

Frazier signed with Seattle

Next year one of the so-called draft experts thinks that Lock, Beckner and Hall will be drafted.

I think both Halls have a good shot at being drafted.

Terez Hall is very underrated. He does a great job of shedding and filling but also has the length and burst to handle a TE in the hook/flat.

The safety run fits were non existent when they were trying to run Read 2. Sherrils and Prewett were supposed to be the outside force to spill plays back inside. They were too slow diagnosing the #2 skill player allowing the outside WR to push crack block them when they were the playside safety. That's what turns a 4 yd gain into a 50 yd TD run on a simple Inside Zone run play. Once Odom fired Cross and went back to Cover 2/3, the safeties started spilling plays, letting Hall and Garrett play downhill.

The new run blocking scheme does nothing but help the olinemen that will be draft eligible next year. Pendleton being able to show he can come off a combo and get into the second level will help him get out of the middle of the pack in his draft class. Adams and Durant are very good edge players and will get some NFL attention.

I think the Drew Lock bubble is going to burst due to an unknown QB having a great year and Drew regressing because of Derek Dooley. Burst as in, he drops into the end of the first or early second round.

That and BO's inability to coach them up like GP did.

Not really because 1 of those seasons GP was the coach.
GP’s last 2-3 years of recruiting misses really hurt Mizzou. BO had to rely on too many underclassmen. That’s a bad combination with a rookie coach and non elite underclassmen.

Next season I see at least 4 draft picks, and 2-3 more with the possibility of getting grafted. BO needs to win, because he has talent at multiple positions on offense and defense.

This is easily overlooked. When the program is built on development, you cant lose that many players.
GP's teams had attrition, but never like they saw out of the 2013 and 2014 classes.

What do you see Dooley doing to cause Lock's skill set to erode?

So BO is good at coaching up players? I can't figure you out. When I said he couldn't, you claimed that's what your post said. So I said great, we both agree he can't coach them up and you flip flop again and say he can coach them up.

We will find out this coming season when he has talent and experienced players to work with. GP coached up mostly upperclassmen. Something that’s been lacking on the last couple of Mizzou teams.

I don’t buy Lock dropping. A lot of QB talent departed.

Lock is a 4 year starter that will still be really young. Prototypical size and a Rocket arm.

He’s going too 5.

We'll have a better idea of how BO can "coach em up" after this coming year. His first class will be JR and RS SO

I think Dooley is going to do less air raid and mix in more pro-style elements to try and get Lock ready for NFL style offenses. Now that's good and all but coming after a record setting year last year, by the numbers, NFL teams will see the drop-off.

The only way to make up for it is by getting to 10 wins IMO. That way it shows that he can make up for lower numbers by winning because of a more balanced offense.

I'm just not sure though, Shea Patterson and Clayton Thorson are projected first rounders that could surpass Lock easily.

NFL teams don't care about #s. They care about concepts and being able to make the throws to beat Cover 2. Those never change regardless of the "system". The difference will be setting up play-action off split zone, power and counter instead of solely outside zone action. None of that does anything to diminish what Lock can do with the ball and does nothing but help the TE and Slot by creating space behind the LBs and Safeties.

more balanced offense.

MU had 486 rushing attempts and 430 passing attempts last year. That is as balanced as it gets.

None of the teams that are currently picking in the top 10 and might need a QB are going to take Thorson or Patterson over Lock.

Teams are going to love-love-love Drew Lock, especially when he performs in private workouts.

I've thought for a year he could go 1st overall when he comes out. His arm talent is rare.

Let’s hope Baker DoucheField doesn’t flame out. Hate for Lock to go to that shite franchise.
