When Mullen came on board in 2008, he made MS a focal point in recruiting. He was successful there. As the years progressed, he has had some success out of state in LA, TX, AL and GA. Guys like Ross, Prescott, Day, Thompson, Robinson and a number of others were OOS recruits.
So I don’t get people disparaging him about his recruiting. I think it was underrated or we would not have had the success he had in the recent years.
I feel that he reached a point where he felt he had done all he could do and it was time to move on.
Moorhead now comes in with an established program and he can now expand the recruiting footprint for State because of the success we have had and seemingly are poised for going forward. So it only makes sense that he and his staff would do that.
Still though our bread and butter will be kids from MS.
