Apparently, like all insurance, it is a pain in the arse to collect on. Unless it is career ending they are likely to fight you tooth and nail. Knowing insurance companies they will likely fight you regardless.
The problem is that you need to prove that your drop in value is directly related to an injury that you have no prior history of having
This insurance has a limited market and pays a massive sum on something that is a somewhat high frequency event (loss in draft value)
The major issuue for a company is that their statutory reserves required for a policy like this would be huge relative to policy premium

Why are you explaining insurance in the same legalese, hard to understand way insurance companies do. You are evil in so many ways.
Translations:
Dog, The problem is it has to be a completely new injury, nothing associated with a past injury for you to get paid man.
Bruh, there are only a few guys good enough who qualify for this insurance and the payout is related to draft stock and injuries. You know athletes fall in the draft and/or get hurt all the time. Embid, Noel, Simmons all then guys getting hurt my dude.
So if they have to payout they are going to lose a lot of money because not that many athletes pay into it, but the payouts crazy money, millions.
In closing, if you started talking at a party I would walk away from you in mid-sentence.
ETA: J/K by the way. I reread this and it came off extra salty
