It was time for Rick to go. The move will probably work out best for both parties.

Rick had gotten VERY lazy at MSU in his last few years. He seems to have more energy now that he is back in coaching.

MSU dropped the ball on the Rick Ray hire, but Howland is definitely building the program back up.

Yep. This WKU team is the kind of squad that a hungry Stansbury used to put together in Starkville. The Coleby guy is a beast. Stans got him from OleMiss and Kansas. He has the 2017 Kentucky state Player of the Year, playing with an obviously huge chip on his shoulder. They are a damn good team

Why do say he was lazy the last few years at State

I think he was a bit frustrated towards the end because we could not seem to get over the hump with a deep run in the NCAA tourney. That clouded his vision and ours as well when he gambled on Sidney. I remember Rick Cleveland writing a column about Sidney's recruitment back in 2009 or 10. He basically said that the gamble would pay off big for Stans or it would be the end of Stans at State (no in between).

But to generally say he was lazy with nothing to support it, I would think is very inaccurate. I mean in 2009, we won the SECT and went to the NCAA, in 2010 we got robbed by the officials in the SECT final against or otherwise we are in again. 2010-11 was a struggle (17-14 - 9-9 SEC), that was the year of the infamous fight that included who else? (Sidney). Then the wrong player (Elgin Baylor left the team. hint he should have stayed and Sidney should have hit the road) 2011-12 team started 19-5 and then fell apart to end the season and that was the end.

Disappointing at the end but I don't think it was because Stans was lazy. Other factors involved but it was about 99.9% on Sidney.
