Dawgslife, I thought collective soul was from woodstock?

Sorry it took so long, I dropped out of the thread for awhile. The father of Ed Roland was the pastor at First Baptist Church Stockbridge. (I believe) My boss went to school with them and was good friends with one of their brothers (That wasn't in the band)

Granted, this is the story he gave me, so it could be wrong, but the boss was a good guy, and I think I can trust him....if not let me know. I hate to repeat something only to find out I was lied to about the facts.

I'll look up more information and see what I find, though, just to be sure.

Just wikied it and it is Stockbridge, so apparently my boss was telling it to me straight.

Interesting side note about how the band started (If you aren't interested in this sort of thing, skip the rest)

Ed Rolan wanted to start a band and asked brother Dean, buddies Will Turpin, Ross Childress and Shane Edwards to join. Dean had not played the guitar and Ed asked him to learn, so Dean learned how to play rhythm guitar.
After they had some success Ed put them all on salary and invested the rest of their money, to avoid losing, wasting, drinking, drugging out on all of their money and them ending up broke.

Apparently one of the members began an affair with Ed Rolan's wife and was caught. That broke up Ed's marriage and got the member kicked out of the band. From what I understand, it is a feud that still goes on today.

That was a couple of the stories the boss told me that you typically won't find out on wiki or other places.
