-Couldn't be happier for AK McLemore making the SEC All-Defensive Team.
-Disappointed for Bruce not winning Coach of the year. Him and Barnes should've been Co-COY.
-Harper and Brown both made 2nd team All-SEC. Although everyone on the first team is worthy, to not have a single AU player on the first team is terrible.
-You can bet we're going to be a very motivated bunch in the tournament

The best three point shooter in the conference not being 1st team is ridiculous. Mustapha not making a list is dumb too.
ETA: No clue how Knox is 1st team either.

Coaches don't pay attention to what actually goes on around their league. They vote off their perceptions

Yup. Win SEC and have best overall record and still no respect. Pearl had two starters out to begin the year. There’s no way Barnes had to endure what AU had to in order to achieve what they did.

This isnt an oversight this is punishment , we coulda had Mike Jordan And he was not gonna be first team this year.

AP just released theirs..
Brown made 1st team, Heron and Harper made 2nd team.
Still no love for Bruce.

Kevin Knox is not worthy of first team.

Y'all say what you want but this is one of the reasons I say frick the rest of the conference.
I don't want any other team having any success in the tourney or NCAA.
It's just a joke at this point.

I might pull for Mizzou but that's probably it. The amount of hostility Auburn got after McLemore went down (not just the board) is sickening.

I've been this way since 2010. Would please me to no end for AU to make it to 2nd weekend in tourney but none of the rest of the SEC
Obviously always wanted to win the SEC tourney but wasn't that concerned. Now I hope we beat the hell outta everybody & Pearl brings up the voting bs right before cutting down the nets

I've never pulled for other SEC teams. But all this does is give Bruce more fuel. He's great at coaching and motivating our guys with a chip on their shoulders.

What makes this so much worse is we not only won the league despite all the adversity we faced. We dominated the SEC w/ all 13 conference wins by 8 or better, 10 of those by double digits. Average margin of victory was 13.6. Vols was 11. Vols only had 4 double digit SEC wins. Even with factoring in AU's 5 losses our average margin in all SEC games is still better than UT's average win margin. 11.5 to 11. Factoring in UT's losses it's 11.5 to 4.8. There is no way a team dominates a league like that & not have 2 of the best 8 players in a league. Staph not being on 2nd team & Chuma not on the All SEC Freshman team were laughable jokes as well. If we were barely beating teams then those votes could be somewhat justified. Reality is we tapped that SEC arse like we owned it so the voting was petty, pathetic, & completely inexcusable.

I think it is a joke, but I'd just want to point out the truth in the above comment.
Heron/Harper had some glaring red flags when playing quite a few coaches. It would be easy to see them dropped on those coaches' ballots
Heron
- Shot >50% FG against only 5 Teams/Coaches
- Shot <30% FG against 3 Teams/Coaches
- Shot 30-46% against 5 Teams/Coaches
- 5 Coaches never saw Mustapha hit a 3FG
Harper
- Shot <30% 3FG against 8 Coaches
- Shot >50% 3FG against 1 Coach
- Shot >50% 2FG against 2 Coaches (50% 2FG against 5)
- Shot <30% 2FG against 3 Coaches
Bryce Brown
-Can't do a between the legs dribble

This I don't have as much a problem with. All the guys named started for their teams and had higher aggregate production statistically
You don't see many role players named to FR All SEC teams when there are a number of guys who were difference making starters

Very limited view on Harper. When you factor in his impact as a distributing PG in terms of Assists, TO ratio, & scoring Chioza is the only PG that could remotely have an argument over Jared. With 8 players on the 1st team there's no excuse for Jared not on it.

Then Justin Ferguson is wrong. 7/8 All SEC FR started >50% of SEC games. The lone exception is Jontay Porter who started in 33% but avg 25.6 mpg in SEC play.
Okeke also has a lower scoring average than everyone on the team + lower rebounds/game relative to the two post men included
His exclusion is pretty fair. He is probably a better player than most on that list, he just wasn't needed like those other guys

I wasn't saying I agree with the view, just putting into context what some coaches experienced.

... and Chiozza was the only true PG chosen 1st team
