Have any of you purchased a bespoke suit? How often do you wear it? How much did it cost you?

ETA: just realized I had the same question twice

Yes. It cost me $700. I got it a couple of years ago. It's worth it to be honest. Of course, I'm almost 50 and can afford shite like this.

Good grief, they're several thousand up here where I am. If it was $700, I'd get 2 or 3

Cost around $2,500. They will tweak it until it is perfect. And it's not just the fit. A good tailor will walk you through all the smallest details and let you pick what you want: exterior fabric, lining, padding, weight, cut, buttons, buttonhole stitching, custom threading, monogramming, suspender loops (or not), pants cuffing (or not), and several other personal details.

I'm not saying it's a must-have item, but there is a reason that it costs so much.

Plus, most tailors will make adjustments if you gain/lose weight. It'll be a small fee but a nice bespoke suit can definitely last you 10 years.

No. And I wear a suit more often than not, and wear them out after 3-4 years (usually). Besides that, suit trends change, and in 5 years your $2,500 custom suit may very well be out of style.

75% of the time that a suit looks shitty is because it is improperly fitted. The other 25% of the time is because it’s a crappy fabric or cut.

If you want to look good in a suit, you don’t need to spend thousands of dollars. Just buy a quality suit from a quality suit maker and get it fitted correctly, which usually means taking it out of the store to a well-experienced seamstress.

I have a couple and a bunch of shirts. I travel a lot internationally and had them made in Hong Kong. The cool part is that now that they have my measurements, I can order a new shirt or suit or pants etc, just straight from their web site by picking the fabric. I get the stuff 10 days later by DHL.

Buy mine from Grand Tailors Hong Kong. High quality moderate price. I am a fat arse and they fit perfectly. Just bought one for my 17 year old nephew. Skinny cut, contemporary color. He looks great in it. Chicks are all over him when he wears it. Worth the money
