Meh, at the time it depended which state Pearl was in when he made that call. Was legal in the state he was coaching in. If this is really bothering you, I'm sure you could dig for the next few years and maybe find out where that call was made from and press charges.
I don't know how obsessed you are, but clearly at least mildly obsessed. That would take another level of obsession though.
