this makes complete sense based on scholarship limits and available scholarships...... :eyeroll:

Eyeroll all you want but stats show that if a coach can't get a team to at least 8 or 9 wins (usually by yr 2) he's not good and never will be.

I talked to an analytics guy recently and he said the truly special guys can get a total shite team to 6-7 wins in yr 1 no matter what and get 10-12+ wins in year 2, almost no matter what the school.

He said a really good coach will get it going to 10+ by yr 3.

He said basically every model shows that's if a coach can't get those numbers by yr 3 nowadays it ain't gonna happen and coach is not very good.

I believe him, fans just need to take off the blinders. Look what Frost did at UCF, look what Saban, Meyer, Kirby did at their power Schools, look what Briles did at Baylor, Kiffin at FAU, etc etc etc...
