Isaiah Rutherford
Alabama was the first offer for Rutherford after he camped with the Crimson Tide and that coaching staff got a first glimpse of what we saw this spring from the Carmichael (Calif.) Jesuit standout. He has freaky, bouncy athleticism at cornerback, he can run with any receiver and then compete for 50/50 balls when it’s thrown his way.
Rutherford shined at the absolutely loaded adidas National Championships, which featured top 7-on-7 teams from around the country. He’s long and lanky, he’s physical when he needs to be and Rutherford is a playmaker on defense. He can step in front of passes, he has great vision and he’s confident so receivers are never going to have an easy time against him.
Alabama, Cal, Oklahoma, Oregon, USC and many others remain in the mix.

Adimora really appeared on the scene last summer when he impressed USC’s coaches at camp and the Trojans decided to offer. He did not attend many other events, but he was at the Under Armour camp in Los Angeles this spring and he was fantastic. Then he followed that up with an impressive performance at the Rivals 3 Stripe Camp presented by adidas.
Adimora is jacked up, quick-twitch and he’s definitely emerged as one of the best defensive backs in the West. The Lakewood (Calif.) Mayfair standout has recently seen his recruitment get really busy - Alabama is his latest offer - as college coaches have come out during spring practice. Texas, Boise State, Oregon, Alabama and others remain in serious contention.
I guess I missed this offer.

LSU recruiting notes from the trail: Amite

Class 2A powerhouse Amite High School features a slew of talented pieces on offense and defense, most notably in the Class of 2019, which makes the goal of returning to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in December a must for this season.
Ishmael Sopsher, the country’s top-ranked defensive tackle, and Devonta Lee, a top-100 receiver, highlight the LSU targets on the roster. There are other Power 5 options on both sides of the ball, including Kyle Maxwell and Amani Gilmore, as well as one of the fastest-rising 2020 defensive backs in Daran Branch.

Noa Pola-Gates Recruiting Update

Gates talked with yours truly about his interest in Alabama.
“They are top three for sure,” Gates said. “The opportunities at Alabama are endless.”
Gates is a product of Williams Field High School in Gilbert, Arizona. He is a 4-Star recruit and is ranked as one of the top safeties in the nation.
The Arizona-native considers himself a realist. He knows that the perfect school doesn’t exist.
“The perfect school doesn’t exist. I’m a realist and I know better,” Gates added. “Real talk,at the end of the day, this is a business decision.”
Gates also wants to go to a school that gives him the opportunity to do big things on the gridiron and in the classroom.
“I want a National Championship and a degree,” Gates said. “I want to be coached by the best of the best and be a part of something that will last a lifetime.”
If the Tide could land this outstanding takent they are getting a guy with tons of knowledge about the game. He has great ball judgement skills and knows how to come down to lower the boom in run support. From watching his highlights, one can tell this guy watches film and studies it, due to his ability to react to plays in an instant and make plays on the ball.

Bama was initially recruiting Devonta Lee to play WR/HB/flex-TE, but likes that he's a good safety prospect too, has talked to him about safety and he's indicated he likes playing defense too.
So that possibility is actually a plus, for both his and Bama's viewpoints. Bama likes having versatile players on the team, for reasons such as unexpected recruiting misses, injuries, departures, etc.

That's correct. It's a throwback to what I think I remember LSU fans saying in, maybe, Tony Brown's year about going five for five on NSD? I believe they were using 545 as shorthand and maybe in signatures, too. However, my memory on this is extremely fuzzy, and it could all be wrong.
