Meh, I dont care about asterisks in a book. As far as I'm concerned we're at 920 which is #2 all time and just 23 behind off #1 which we will slowly chip away at year by year.

It is funny that no website that keeps tabs on records has taken off Notre Dame's wins, at least temporarily, while their case is on appeal. As soon as Alabama was levied with the penalties from the textbook scandal, the 21 wins were removed from everything.

I believe it should be 921. Bama had to forfeit 9 wins in 93 & vacate 21 wins 2005, 06, 07.

Right. For the truth, you have to add the 31 games won on the field that some suit in an ncaa office decided we should forfeit because Antonio Langham signed a napkin in the celebratory aftermath of the national title game, or vacate because some kids sold some textbooks.

Meanwhile, at about the same time we were slammed for the Antonio signing that napkin, Auburn had to give up some tv games, back when a team was on tv about 3 times a year, because coaches were providing players with incentives.

NCAA penalties were, and remain totally arbitrary. There is no rhyme, reason, or rational justification for how they mete out sanctions.
