some people just like being miserable.

PG- Sexton
SG- Ingram
Ingram is not a SG. He's a PG that they've had to move because of Sexton's ability. Petty is really the only SG on the roster.

Rotate Petty for one of them
And Petty is not a PG. He actually has pretty bad ball handling skills for a guard. Sexton, Ingram, and Johnson are the only ball handlers getting playing time.
I think our guard rotations have been fine since Key came back. The frontline is still in flux, even moreso now with Hall injured. I do think Smith has been impressive and deserves more PT over Giddens.

The problem with Ingram and Junior is they are not very quick or fast for a point guard. But, Ingram does have some offensive skills because he can take it to the basket and get fouled--and he is pretty good at the line.

You misunderstood.
I'm saying rotate these looks
PG Sexton
SG Ingram
PG Ingram
SG Petty
PG Sexton
SG Petty
I'm not saying have Petty run point.

I think Herb made it pretty clear he can run the point if needed (assuming he has indeed fixed his turnover issue). He looked quite good distributing the ball last night. And he took a bunch of minutes from JR in the second half last night.

I don't think Ingram is a PG at all. He has bad vision, isn't a great ball handler and is much better catching and slashing. He's not even really very good taking guys off the dribble from a stand still position, and he's really not good at driving and making good split second passing decisions. Ingram is at his best when he aggressively drives off the pass and looks to score instead of drawing contact.
I'd be completely content with Sexton as the starter and a combination of Ingram/Johnson/Herb spelling him. I'd prefer to see what Schaffer can do instead of AJJ, but that just isn't going to happen. AJJ's minutes need to be reduced to 3-4 a half IMHO.
Herb is a really interesting option at PG in spots because he has really good vision, does a good job getting into the lane and makes pretty good decisions when guys help on defense. He's basically Ingram but with better floor awareness. AJJ just brings nothing except for being there. He doesn't collapse the defense, he doesn't threaten them from 3 and he doesn't make great passes. He's just kind of there offensively.

I don't really disagree with most of this. Without Sexton, he'd be our #1 PG, and other than Sexton, he's really the only guy on our roster with decent ball handling skills.

Absolutely. I think Ingram is versatile enough to spell Key against certain teams and lineups.

none of them are really good point guards. Sexton is probably better because he is the only one with quickness and speed. He isn't very good at distributing the ball though.

I do agree that this pace would suit Coleman better, and he was good from the line. Do we even know if Avery forced him out though? Maybe he wanted to start, and there's no way he would've started on this team.
His uncle is a huge Alabama fan and posts on another board. From what I remember he said there were no hard feelings, but Avery basically told him that he didn't see much, if any, PT in his future at Alabama.

Here's few things:
I think Petty plays lot better without sexton on the court. With Sexton, it throws his shooting off at times... and I can see why Petty would get frustrated at time with Sexton always driving to the basket. It would benefit Sexton to adjust his game and find open shooters and look for a balance on his offense.
It helps if we rotate at PG behind Sexton with Ingram, Jones, and Johnson Jr. I've noticed that we've gone cold in shooting for extended period in almost every game because of who we sit on the bench.. we need to address that...

Sexton finds open shooters (especially Petty) very well. I'd argue that's his strength in distribution. But for whatever reason, our players (including Petty) have trouble hitting open shots. Petty has the same problem I had in HS: you put a hand in my face at NBA range and I'll make you pay, our PG finds me wide the frick open and I'm bricklaying.

Collin does find open guys , they just don't always convert. Otherwise his assists would double.

Honestly, I'm just so ready for him to graduate. He's hamstringing his dad currently. I feel like if Avery could go back in time, he would've rather had his son stay at A&M. I understand people being upset (like myself) that he won't take away his minutes, but I can also understand the predicament. Junior was good enough to garner mid-major and high-major attention in HS and you don't want to be the coach he bitches about for the rest of his life for not playing him. Pretty much every dad would do the same damn thing if they were in the same kind of position.
If everything works out with Avery Sr., I'd want Junior to have an Andrew Steele kind of position here. The kid is already a great recruiter as a player. He's an asset to the team, just not as much so on the court.

Yeah, I agree with that. I think he's in a tough position now. Realistically, he probably should have seen the risk before letting Jr transfer. But, as a father, I can forgive this sort of mistake. And AJ has had a few games where he played really well.

Sexton distributes well we just are jekyll n hyde shooting the ball.....it shows in our w/l column pretty drastically.Thats why i dont understand when coach does the slow down shite this team reacts horribly.
Jones is gonna be a good player for us and like him controlling the ball.Hes a freshman and there will be mistakes but he has a better feel than everyone but Sexton.
....we could use Coleman but imo we could also use Schaefer.I think it would help our O when Sextons out.
