Chavis to Arkansas cluster

It seems that A) by leaking Chavis to Arkansas and B) by leaking that he is actually already working as a U of A employee, we may have left ourselves in a difficult negotiating position with A&M with respect to Chavis' buyout.
If I was A&M, I would be saying we want to "promote" Chavis to "quality director of operations" or some such BS. Our only choices are to pay Chavis' buyout to A&M (for a coach they were going to let go), or walk away. Either way, it looks bad for us. We have no leverage.
Or maybe I have no idea what I am talking about. Anybody got any insight? Something has clearly delayed the formal announcement.

The whole coaching staff process has been an absolute disaster, there's no other way to say it.

It's almost like the athletic department isn't being run by professionals anymore...
