Fromm will prove to be equally talented as Mayfield,

With Mayfield having far more experience on his side.

But raw ability, equal. Both can make every throw.

Think Fromm has a far better surrounding cast that is accustomed to a far higher level of competition. I think what we will demand from Fromm is way lower than what OU will have to get from Mayfield.

Vandy beat the hell out of Kansas State for heaven's sake. Baylor boggles the mind. Texas has strongs defensive recruits and they slowed OU way down.

While some of your points are valid, Vanderbilt didn’t “beat the hell” out of K State, (14-7). I watched that game, and while Vandy won, they were very fortunate to do so.

You can't actually believe they're equal yet.

Baker still had 300 passing yards.

I really don't like going to bat for OU at all, but it's crazy to me the way that some of y'all make it seem like they are just a trash team.

They wouldn't have won their conference, and they certainly wouldn't be in the CFP if they were a trash team. I just think the Dawgs have the intangibles to disrupt Oklahoma's groove.

I think back to the Mike Tyson quote:

I've got a YouTube channel with nothing but Fromm highlights and even I don't think he's on Mayfield's level right now.

Again, the difference is experience, not raw talent.

Vandy and TCU were the only teams to take KSUs offense completely out of the game. Both took them way below their average. Vandy played d well but still mostly sucked this year.

Rolled through both JF and BM highlights and they damn near look identical though I think Mayfield has better wheels. Mayfield also benefitted from a bunch of blown coverages throwing to wide arse open receivers. Eye discipline, disruption, sure tackles, and speed will be our friend. So will our run game as we will demolish the 3 man front if they run that shite versus our o. I also think we bat down a bunch of passes.

Did not realize we run the same RPO they do. Mayfield gets the ball out quick so we are going to have disrupt timing to give our guys a chance to get to him. So other than our occasional pro set, we look identical in the spread, slats, post, crossing patterns and outs.

His oline looks great because he, like Fromm, makes quick decisions and has a quick release. I do not think we have to crowd the Box to stop their run game but I think they will have to to stop ours.

Baker Vs Police

Would Fromm have made more yardage?

Chubb, Michel, Swift, Godwin, Nauta, Ridley, Wimms, Hardeman... And an oline that does not get manhandled at the snap, Mayfield makes his o look good by getting the ball out very fast.

Way, way, way better d to back him up as well.

Both squads played some crap teams this year but we actually beat the snot out the ones we played.

Oklahoma is loaded w/ 4 star dudes at every skill position and they have arguably the best line in country (ND has a case). They are the most explosive and efficient offense of all time right now.

I love Fromm and he’s got a ton a great qualities but dude, come on, comparing him to Mayfield—a guy in the conversation for the best college quarterback of all time—is insane.

I think we win (possibly big if we get rolling) but to insinuate OU is not a good team is setting yourself up for disappointment. They are for real.

What we should hope for is not that Fromm can play on the same level as Mayfield, but that our defense can shut him down enough for our offense to take over. We shouldn't try to beat them at their own game but to play our game our way and let the best team win.

This is a ridiculous thread. Love how Fromm has performed as a true freshman but he is not even close to Mayfield's level at this point. However, we don't need him to be Baker Mayfield. We need him to play like he did in the SEC Championship game and hope our offensive line controls the line of scrimmage like they have much of the season.

Bottom line, Fromm has lead his team to the playoffs as a true freshman. Think about that, game manager or not, he made the throws he had to to win when it mattered in a run heavy offense.

I also think he will be in the Heisman hunt next year.

When you watch the replays they even look like one another in the pocket and the ball comes out almost identically.

This thread is pretty rediculous but the circle jerk over on LT is just as bad.

They are all trying to convince each they have a good defense and that our defense can't slow them down because they did well against different SEC teams in years past. They actually think they can win the game by running the ball on us.

It isn't a knock on Fromm to say he isn't on Mayfield's level. Fromm has done essentially everything the coaches have asked of him and had a sensational freshman season, but Mayfield is having one of the best seasons ever for a quarterback. Comparing them at this point in time is asinine.

Comparing them on the field is exactly what is about to happen....
