Puryear is obviously better than Nikko, but they don’t really play the same position and won’t compete for minutes with each other.

That’s even with Nikko having the better game today.

I don’t mind Puryear at all. I wonder if some of you guys understand what he is as a player.

He’s a non-dominant PF. Not a shooter and not a dribble drive guy.

High post up worker, cutter, midranger.

Not a rim attacker, not a long range threat, and not a low post player.

He accepts his role mostly. Why can’t you guys.

Barnett is the swing forward that you need. Puryear has a place.

I’m not trying to compare the 2, I’m saying Puryear should not be starting at the 4. He’s just not good on the inside. Now, he could back up Barnett at the 3. Then put Tilmon, Porter, and Nikko on a rotation inside. Nikko takes up a lot of room in there. Seems to be getting a little more confidence and aggressiveness too. Heck even Barnett could play the 4 better than Puryear. But Barnett is a much better shooter from the 3.
