For all those who opposed WikiTiger and Bitcoin

He was right when everyone was against him. But he was right when no one was buying. That's the big one. To be in a room when you're saying REVOLUTION and everyone thinks you're CRAZY, you're generally crazy. Except he adopted the revolution when no one knew about it and everyone thought it was stupid.
The day will come when owning 1 BTC is the only fact you could tell someone and they'll equate it to being upper class money.
Wherever you are, cheers to hope. Hope you were hodling at least a little through all these times.

How low was it when he was pushing it?

He’s got to be dead. As much shite as he took. I’d be peacocking around this place telling all the poors to suck my wang.

I bought and used it back when it was 20 bucks.
It never occurred to 20 year old me it could be worth something.
....one boom purchase was worth a little over 3.5 million these days.

This bubble is going to burst in extraordinary fashion.

Well a currency where each coin is 17k isn't really a currency. It's an investment. It's a bubble. We'll see where it goes. Bitcoin may be around, but my guess is another crypto currency will ultimately beat out Bitcoin.

I didn't oppose Wiki so much as I thought (and still do) that BTC is mostly useful for people who want to store assets outside their nation's banking system for whatever reason.
I did not agree with his pie in the sky ideas that it would replace national currencies all across the world. That still hasn't happened, nor do I see it replacing traditional "strong" currencies anytime soon like the dollar or euro.
The BTC-USD exchange rate had nothing to do with it.

From what I can tell the only thing driving this ridiculous crypto bubble is scarcity. The system is designed so that only 21 million coins total are available. If the system generated coins indefinitely nobody would give a shite because you could just set up a farm and get unlimited coins over time. Wouldn't be worth shite.
However, the rise of other cryptocurrencies is going to put the scarcity of bitcoin out of business.
I see this bubble bursting HARD within about 3 months.
Sell now.

stock in enron used to be a status symbol as well
all fake currencies eventually go to be worth nothing but just like penny stocks, you can make bank as long as you cash out before the train wreck that nobody knows if that is 1 minute or 5 years away

all it would take is a couple of large scale miners to say "frick it" to crash bitcoin

Eventually the bubble will burst, they always do.

i mean the only ones that are pumping the shite out of it are the ones invested in it

There are 3 gas stations right near my office that have bitcoin atms next to regular atms. Must be a lot of bit coin owners around this part of atlanta

there will be a tipping point, where it happens i don't know
the total market cap of bitcoin far exceeds the cost of all goods and services that can be purchased with it
