It may work out and Tennessee fans might convince themselves it is great, but if John Currie rather than Phil Fuller made this hire 2 weeks ago during the Gruden Bonanza, Vol fans would be outside his house with pitch forks screaming about hiring another Saban assistant. To use a Clay Travis analogy, during this hiring season Texas A&M and Florida proved they both swing a helicopter fallous, while Tennessee is more mosquito-esque in that department!! Good luck.

Gus Malzahn was a HS coach in 2005. He's also the reason that Auburn has been to 2 NC games and made this year's CFP in the last 8 seasons.

Schiano
-Had Rutgers doing good before he left
-did bad at Tampa Bay
-is hated by his players
-was identified in court as having covered up pedophilia (whether he did or not is irrelevent, just the possibility that he may have is a detraction)
-DC Ohio state

Pruitt
-DC Alabama, Georgia, Florida State
-has coached multiple national championship defenses (alabeit he didnt build Florida State's)
-is a clean slate HC wise
-is possibly insane

Pruitt isn't any worse than schiano (bonus for not having been named in court of allowing pedophilia to ocurr)
Vols could've gotten Leach or Les, but it is what it is
