How do you go from Hoover high DC to UT head coach in 11 years

That’s cool you played for him though. Was it during the days of 2adays filming?
Yes, I went there during that.

I’ll never forget when Hoover was laughing about playing some little (2a?)school from Louisiana (John Curtis).. and they lost.
That little school had a 5* two way player named Joe McKnight who was being talked about as the second coming of Reggie Bush at the time.
Hoover jumped up 14-0, but McKnight was the difference as he had two really long TDs of around 50+, and the game sealing INT.
Hoover was ranked #1 by USA Today going into that game, but John Curtis was also a top 10 team nationally, so its not like that "little" school was slouches. Plus thats a private school that was created and exists solely for the football program. Its like saying IMG Acadamey today is just some nobody tiny private school

It was also cool seeing them talk about some really hyped quarterback named Tebow. Hoover won that game though.
Whooped his arse. Wasn't even close.
I believe that was the first HS football game ever televised live on the main ESPN. Temperatures on the field that game got to 110.
