We gave away literally 35 points between free throws and turnovers and still beat a NCAA team.

Great win. Really improved defensive effort. Jeebus the turnovers and free throws are going to give me a stroke.

Thank god we got to shoot enough free throws to make a few. But turnovers, OMG.
And some looked like turnovers, but were called missed shots

Yeah. We sucked, they sucked, but it's actually a great win.

Let's also not forgot Sexton was out most of the game.

Our intensity on the defensive end was night and day better.

Giddens really had a nice ballgame. He's got some offensive skill in the right matchup when he slows down and takes his time.

If we had sucked less on Sunday we would be the absolute worst 8-1 team in the country :ha:

Rhode Island is a perpetual 8/9 seed in the NCAA tournament. Good win for us, but not so sure we would have won that in NCAA tournament setting.

Sexton has some stuff he needs to work on or maybe it's just the offense. He ends up driving into and trying to shoot over 3 defenders way too often.

I am starting to get a little concerned that we are 9 games in and looking worse than where we started the season. Getting Key back will help but he's not some savior.

That's going to be a Top 50/75 RPI win at seasons end.

That's a tough arse team too. We didn't play well but we battled. Good gosh the turnovers.

Not helping that he isn't getting any experience in the OOC season.

Well we're playing better teams, and I think we are a better defensive team than we were to start the season. Doesn't help that I think JP is still semi hurt.

I thought we looked pretty good sans the turnovers and free throws up until about the 7 minute mark. And, we didn't have Sexton.

But yea, were still figuring it out. I did like the defensive effort. We're figuring out team defense little by little and what it means to play intense defense. It's a learned habit for freshmen.

Yeah probably why I'm not too upset. Rebounding looks much improved. But gawd the turnovers. Most of them are just careless too and players not being aware of the ball, or lazy passes.

They're a terrible rebounding team, so I'm not getting too excited about our performance on the glass.
