Alabama should be thanking Auburn

Especially if we manage to win it all, the Tide will owe our little brothers from the Plains a debt that can probably never be repaid in full. That little scrimmage in Jordan-Hare was exactly what the doctor ordered.
- It gave Miller and Lewis some valuable game time experience since their injuries in the Florida State game, allowing them to get back in the swing of things against a fast-paced offense.
- It helped expose several weaknesses on defense to the coaching staff, giving them the opportunity to shore them up once the real games start in January.
- It hopefully gave the team the spark it had been missing since the Tennessee game. They had been sleepwalking for practically the entire month of November, and the scrimmage game against Auburn finally brought this reality home to them.
- Lastly, Auburn's win in that scrimmage game down in Jordan-Hare gave the team a valuable weekend of rest and relaxation. Sure...we would have preferred to have control of our own destiny, but who knows what could have happened if we faced Georgia in Atlanta? It might have gotten some more key starters (such as Minkah Fitzpatrick!) injured badly enough that they would miss the playoffs. As it stands now, we're going to have all but two of our starters back to 100% by the time New Years Day arrives.
So thank you Auburn for taking that beat down against Georgia. I'm just glad it wasn't us that got embarrassed in Atlanta. We might not have made it to the playoffs if it had been.

Thank LSU, they got you into the playoffs... Your best win and Auburn's worse loss. Let that sink in. If Auburn had taken care of business (we did not), LSU would have been 8-4 and Auburn NOT Bama would be in.
Also, Auburn was clearly the better team that day. Bama bias got you another shot, worked for you in 2011, doubt it works this time.

That’s a lot of words to tell us that you’re a pussy.

You should be thanking LSU for beating Auburn. Otherwise you would be looking at UGA and AU in the playoffs possibly going for the rubber match.
