How does the money work?

This has nothing to do with cheating but more on "how do we pay our staff"
Where does the money come from?
I see Clemson pays Venables 1.4 million.
They pay their Co-OCs a combined 1.2million.
Now is this just all from Booster money? Money that they get from winning the title/going to the CFP/TV Money?
I ask this because we may not equal them in field success bonuses, but the SECN Has to pay us a lot more right?
What do famous/wealthy alumni/boosters have to do with it?
Like all this time I hear about Oklahoma State and T Boone Pickens. Does he basically just pay for coaches?
UT went to Gundy offering around 8 mil a year, does he just step in and say "I will give him 10?"
How does this all work? I know there isn't some type of salary cap/luxury tax compared to pro sports.

They pour all their money into football, instead of more balanced across all sports
While I enjoy the success we have in other sports, I often think we should do the same sometimes.

If it is anything like how we do things at Arkansas, and I imagine it is, part of the salary is paid for by the Athletic Department but a decent chunk is paid for by the boosters. At Arkansas its the Razorback Foundation.
At Clemson... I dunno, the Taterhead Tard Society?
Also it wouldn't surprise me if you were spending more across all sports then Clemson, they might be concentrating what they have on football.

It's called IPTAY and it stands for "I Pick Taters All Year"

So what you're saying is... We don't pay our coaches close to what they pay, because we pay our other coaches competitive salaries, while Clemson really doesn't pay Women's basketball etc a good salary

Clemson has realized, and rightly so, that with the UNC's and Duke's of the world not only geographically close but within the same conference, they have 0 chance of competing in that sport, so they don't try.

what do they give their baseball staff?
They're pretty good at that right? or does just everyone in the conference suck so they don't pour money into that and just go to Basketball?
And then you got schools like Florida, Ohio State, Stanford etc.
Do they just have so much money they are able to fund everything equally?

baseball money is chickenshit. Kevin O'Sullivan is the highest paid coach in the nation and he makes 1.25 mill. Thats it. theres only maybe 4 or 5 total coaches.

Could we go out and give our Coordinators (OC and DC) 7 figures?

I think we will def give TRob that this year, he's making 750 right now. Depending on how established the new OC is will depend on what he makes

Another question, guess I'll just put it here as expansion talks usually come around.
"Expanding into new states to get the TV revenue"
What does this exactly mean?
I live in NYC, there is no SEC team there. We have the SECNetwork on the most basic cable package.

It matters who watches.
We added Mizzou and got the St Louis tv market. People there that watch Mizzou will now watch other SEC games.
Same with Texas A&M.

I mean if thats the case though (just from my experiences) does adding Rutgers or Syracuse really matter?
No one watches those teams here.
Everyone watches the SEC, Big10, Pac12 and and Notre Dame over those 2 teams.
(not saying we would add a team from NY but just saying as "adding the media market)

I hate to hear that. You seem like a nice guy.
But yes, its TV markets. A&M and Mizzou added major TV markets.
You could make a decent argument there were better fits out there in NC or VA but it is what it is.

Outside of Raleigh do they even watch football in NC?
I hear all this NC State is a good football fanbase but if you leave the city you're basically in Duke or UNC basketball territory.
So what does the SEC get for me watching the network in NYC?
Nothing?

Everywhere that carries the SEC network brings in a bit of cash. So you are doing your part to keep USC flush with cash.
Though its not a surprise that NYC has it. From what I understand, thanks to having so many people living there from out of state, New York has a ton of college football fans devoted to teams from all around the country.
