Did AU leave themselves an out, or did they go full Aggie?

Let's ask thibodauxtigah since he seems to have the inside scoop on the contract details.

Is the extension confirmed?
The official AU site has links to the bowl game vs UCF but no mention of the Gus signing.
I'd be concerned about an Auburn team led by Lane K or Bobby P.

Have either one of those coaches beaten Saban?

No, but one played him closer than anyone with lesser talent and almost won while the other had the misfortune of coaching at Arkansas. Lane or Petrino with Auburn talent level would be dangerous.
I laugh at you fools that believe Gus is some great coach for beating Saban twice in 5 tries.
Freeze beat him twice in less time with even less talent, what's your point?

Gus has NOT signed a contract. To be worked out over the next few days. The buyout was the sticking point, my guess it is 75% guaranteed.

So you're not concerned with an Auburn team led by Gus?

Gus is 26-16 as an HC in the SEC. No wonder Auburn locked him down for life.

Or it could be he's led them to a national championship game
2 SEC championship games
2 NY6 bowl games
2 division titles
2-3 against arguably one of the greatest dynasties and coaches in college sports :barf:
I'd say he probably could do some things differently but he's only been a head coach for 6 years.

Gus better hope so. In Saban’s 11 yrs at Bama. Auburn has beat them 4 times now. If history repeats itself. After the previous 3 losses. Bama has came back to Skull Frick Aubie the next 2-3 yrs. Gus will probably be fired in 2 Years. See Chizik

In Gus' five years there he's 2-3, not bad considering the circumstances.

How many times did Barners want to fire him between 1 & 2?

All fanbases have dummies, just go look on our board, most expectations are unrealistic.
People want the next Saban, it's not going to happen, so they set the bar so high that if you have a few bad seasons they want you out. It's going to be almost impossible for any bama coach to live up to Saban's legacy.

Didn't Petrino almost beat Bama in 2010 before Mallett went full retard or did I just dream that??

This was a good extension by AU, Gus is a solid coach.

Yes. Bama then lost the following week to USCe.

I still think Mallet had money on that game

We actually were talking to Petrino and had him in our back pocket in case Booger Picking Gusto left. I've been wanting him for years. Everyone needs a 2nd chance and he's ran a clean life since his Harley days!
Kiffin will be the next big successful coach once he gets a good Power 5 job. He's hit rock bottom learning he's got to run a program how it should be! He hates Saban and would throw the sink each year trying to 1-up him

Some at Arkansas want to buy Bobby a new Harley & all the Blondes he wants.
