Braves have a pretty massive range of how many wins the team could end up with. If the young kids improve and play well, we could potentially challenge for the wild card. If they struggle with the transition to the big leagues then we might have to wait until next year to be competitive.

Question: Do the braves break .500 this season? I'm cautiously optimistic but think that'll be over by the end of May.
That's a tough question to answer.
People look at the pitching last year and use those results to predict how the pitching will do this year. The assumption is that the pitching will continue to suck because we didn't go out and grab a big name free agent.
You just can't do that. You have to think that Teheran pulls it together. Folty had more dominating starts last year than he had before, so if he can reduce his meltdowns even more, then there are a few more wins. Newcomb appears to have found something in himself, though we won't know until he gets 20 or so starts this year. McCarthy is a wild card and Gohara has the potential to dominate. You can't use last year to predict this year with the pitching staff, so I honestly can't make an informed prediction on team wins.
