A BS article like this can possibly gain him some extra attention during the turnover of the football program tomorrow. The timing is right for it, and every OM fan there is would love for his fairytale to be true.

So what do you assume the endgame is for our AD by releasing a "completely false story" such as this the day before all of the findings come out?

If this story is false...and they know it's false....why do you think they would do this?

a.) They've lied before

b.) Successfully tarnishing the NCAA investigation creates doubt about the legitimacy of the sanctions

I don't think the AD pushed it. He got close to the truth, held it and talked shite while trying to close the loop, is publishing before NCAA hammer on too little, too late fashion in order to at least get some clicks from a failed attempt at investigative jornalism.

A failed attempt with MSU in his OM Homer crosshairs, nonetheless.

What was the end game to mislead everyone about the majority of violations being on the previous staff? Misleading everyone while claiming most of the violations were on two other sports? Misleading the 16 recruiting class?

All the while it was obvious the truth would eventually come out?

Best explanation? He is an idiot. He does have three sports in trouble and hired a career position coach as head coach. He also paid more for him than MSU and it is clearly obvious MSU made a much better hire.

He wants his base to be upset at State and/or the NCAA rather than the program. Seems pretty rational.
